My fiance and I had instructions from our baker not to have a topper with more than a 6" base - and this makes the cut very easily! At just less than six inches tall, the topper is on the smaller side, but it should fit well on a three-tier cake. I think our cake is an 8-10-12. The topper is solid but not heavy, and looks more expensive than it actually was. We are very happy with it.

This is very nice. It is a little on the small side and at first I was concerned about that. We had a cake for 250 and it looked very nice on the cake.
